Master Gardener & Blogger
evergrowers.com

Hello, fellow green thumbs and aspiring gardeners! My name is Jake Matthews, the creator of Evergrowers. I'm thrilled to welcome you to my little corner of the internet where I share my journey, experiences, and insights into the world of gardening.

My Story

Believe it or not, my love for gardening did not blossom overnight. Growing up in the heart of the city, the only plants I was familiar with were those confined to pots on our apartment balcony. It wasn't until my early 20s, when I stumbled upon an old gardening book at a yard sale, that the seeds of passion were sown.

Without any formal education in horticulture, I embarked on my gardening journey with nothing more than that tattered book, unwavering determination, and a pocketful of dreams. Through trial and error (believe me, there were plenty of errors!), I taught myself the intricacies of soil, light, and the magic of seeds.

My once-bare backyard transformed into a vibrant oasis, bustling with life, colors, and fragrances. From nurturing the tiniest seeds to witnessing the glorious blooms, every moment spent in the garden was a lesson learned.

Realizing the transformative power of gardening, not just on the land but also on the soul, I felt a profound desire to share my discoveries with the world. That's how Evergrowers was born. More than just a blog, it's a community, a space for all of us to learn, share, and grow together.

A Bit More About Me

When I'm not tending to my garden or typing away on Evergrowers, you can find me exploring local nurseries, hiking in nature, or enjoying a good cup of herbal tea, brewed with herbs from my very own garden.

Gardening, for me, goes beyond aesthetics. It's a meditative process, a chance to connect with nature and oneself. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their gardening expertise, can reap the therapeutic benefits of being in touch with the earth.
